Oh Color

One of my favorite Spring trends is Color Blocking! (As I stated I was obsessed with last week) It is a fun trend where you can mix bright colors to get a sophisticated, but fun look that looks put together! You can even mix in some neutral pieces to break up the brightness of the outfit. Or you can go all out with the bright and the bold!!!

Here are some of the fun styles I have been admiring! I think Pink tones and Blue tones are my favorite. They are both such versatile colors!!

Wear to go from here…a Sunday Brunch or a girls night out. You can go anywhere in your color block outfit!

Slight Obsession

It’s been a long hiatus for me from here, but I have been living a crazy whirlwind version of my life and I can’t even believe it’s already MARCH!!! Where has the time gone? Before we know it we will be in 2013! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

With all the craziness, and the non stop hustle and bustle of my life lately I am ready for things to calm down and get back to the things I enjoy and have not done in months. I have gained some slight obsessions for spring and can’t stop thinking about them. I think I need all of these things in my life…I just can’t take it anymore!!

Pink Pants!! Or any colored pants for that matter. And paired with a chambray shirt for a pretty look!
Single glitter nail…totally love this look with a little dash of sparkle without being a full blown disco party on your fingers.
Color Blocking! Enough said…love this spring trend. And I need this BCBG Maxazria dress, it’s so pretty and I love the pleats!
Maxi dresses. Something seems so sweet and romantic about this soft flowy look…I just can’t wait for warmer weather to bust out the spring dresses!!
Ombre Hair (not sure I am brave enough), but might be a way to get some blonde in my life?? I have a secret desire to be blonde, but olive skin prevents me from ever really doing it!

This just made me even more obsessed!!!

Wear to go from here… Off to the mall and hair salon!! Can't control myself any longer!

Happy Friday!

Back to Basic

I am in dire need of a new basic black dress boot. I have practically worn through mine and they are looking quite shabby these days! I am really interested in a wedge boot since they tend to be slightly more comfortable and are a good style that goes with everything. I’ve been on the hunt for a few weeks now and haven’t found that perfect pair yet! But with payday and an wide open weekend I am on a shopping mission!

But here are some contenders I have found that I want to check out!
Not sure if I will want to spurge for the Pour La Victoire… but just in case they are amazing, I’m keeping an open mind. Giving Christmas gifts are over rated right! Hehe!!

Big, Bold & Bright Statement

Statement Necks are a BIG part of the accessory trends right now! I love how it can take a plain tee or dress and class it up! Or it can just add some fun color and depth to your outfit. The bigger and bolder the jewels are, the more fun and flashy it is. Add some feathers and you are ready to go!
And we all know I am not afraid to be a little fashion forward... even if it gets me pretty awkward glances when I step up to the bus stop in the morning!

I love the Charm & Chain website to search all the latest trends and styles in jewelry and at all different price points you are bound to find something that fits into your budget! Here are some I am loving right now!

Wear to go from here… to get ready to make a statement! On your neck at least!!

Over the Top?

I absolutely love Ugg boots, and I know they are slightly ridicules and some even consider ugly, but they are some of the most comfortable shoes EVER! And in the winter months are always so warm and cozy. Unless it’s a downpour they are even slightly weatherproof to the elements.

So when I came across these sparkly sequin Over the Knee Bailey Button Sparkles Boots it was love at first sight! Too over the top?? Too impractical?? Probably, but who cares they were boots that were made for me!

Wear to go from here… out in the cold, so I can wear my new boots!!

The Peacock Effect

I can't stop obsessing over Rachel Zoe clothes!! She is my favorite stylist and now that she is doing her own clothing line I am SO EXCITED!!!! I have big dreams of working as her assistant and styling photo shoots and red carpet events! (Maybe someday!) But in the meantime I'll just ooh and awe over her amazing clothes!

I saw this dress in a magazine a few weeks back and then on my boss yesterday and I am in love! The peacock pattern is so fun and flirty, then combined with the silky fabric and ruffles it's the perfect wear to work dress with some tights and pumps. But could also transition to a cocktail party with bare legs and some stappy heels! Basically just a must have dress!

DVF Sparkle

Diane Von Furstenberg is one of those iconic designers that always have beautiful and timeless clothes. If I could fill my entire closet with DVF wrap dresses, capes and jersey tunics I totally would!

To add to my sparkle obsession I am DY-ING over this bright blue Judith Dress from the her Fall 2011 line!! But with a $1,600 price tag, it will probably never be mine… but a girl can dream! I would totally rock this with some silver strappy high heels and some fun statement earrings for a night out on the town!
Wear to go from here… to figure out how to get a black-tie event invite and money to get this dress! (Brainstorming starts now!)

Wearable Sparkle

With Holiday season staring up in October I am obsessed with finding a Sparkle sequin dress for my holiday parties and events! I found this Adrianna Papell Sequin Dress at Nordstrom and was instantly in love! I like the taupe color, subtle sparkle and sequin detail. Another item to add to my shopping wish list!

I'd like to go to this party. Who of my friends wants to wear the grey dress to the left??

(I could get so many wears out of it...the possibilities are endless!)

Technicolor Jeans

Colored denim is a trend that started this spring, out in full swing for Fall and still showing up on the runways for Spring 2012! Therefore I must get on this band-wagon and quick!

I am slightly torn on what my first color of denim should be. Do I go with my tried and true red?? Or I was thinking maybe something like a cobalt or purple would be a nice addition to my wardrobe. Then I saw a girl in my office this week with light pink jeans paired with a white button blouse and grey suede platforms and looked stunning. So I might have to copy her! Hopefully she won’t notice and even more hoping she doesn’t wear it again on the same day I do! Can we say awkward?!?!

Here are a few options that I narrowed it down to:
Purple - Premium Denim Colored Skinnies $22.80
(did you notice the penny loafer it was paired with?!?!)
Pink - J Brand Skinny Stretch Twill Pants $178 on sale for 99.90
Red - Flare Leg Jeans $19.50

Wear to go from here… shopping duh! (I use any excuse…if you couldn’t already tell)

The New POWER SUIT

A red suit is a new twist on the wear-to-work suit. Of course red is my favorite color, but a red suit is definitely the new ‘POWER SUIT’! Pair it with classic nude pumps and a crisp white tee or button up and you have a strong fashion forward look for work.

I am absolutely gaga over the red suit in Rachel Zoe’s Fall RTW 2011 collection.
I found the Classic Tailor Tux Jacket at Nordstrom to pre-order. But the jacket alone is $425... so I needed to find a more budget friendly solution.
And thank goodness for Express! They have a similar jacket for $138 & matching pants for $69.90. The entire look for just over $200!

So obviously adding this to my fall shopping wish list!

Wear to go from here… to the office in style!

The New Penny Loafer

A shoe trend that I have been loving this Fall has been loafer heels. They are a throw back to the old 80's thru early 90's penny loafer that your dad wore. (I remember always wanting to get the penny out of my dad's shoes) But the current trend has a more fashion forward spin on it for the ladies. You can pair them with a sweater dress and tights or get a more casual look with some skinny corduroy pants and chunks sweater. The possibilities are endless!

Here are some of my favorites I have found out there in the stores.
2. Madewell - The Perfect Pennyloafer Pump $188.00
3. Piperlime - Boutique 9 Night Loafer $160.00
4. Alexander Wang - Anais Silver $650.00
5. Piperlime - Mia Nolen $59.00
6. JC Penny - Vinti Pump $49.99

Closet Dreams

This week has been the start of our cool and crisp fall weather. I'm not sure I am ready to give up hope that summer is really over, for the warm summer weather is my favorite season as far as weather goes.

But the one thing I look forward too when fall starts is the clothes!! As if I haven't driven this point across enough this week already... but I love fall clothes! You can layer and wear warm rich tones, but don't have to quite plan your outfit to include rain boots and a winter coat yet.

As I start to go through my tiny walk-in closet (Yes it's a walk-in, but it's the worlds smallest one at only about 4x4) and clean out the old and make lists of needs and wants for the season I can't help but dream of someday having a larger closet that could keep everything organized and visible. Where I could line all my sweater and shoes and even hang my pants so that everything is out on display! My dream closet is the one from Sex and the City 2. It looks so nicely organized and makes the clothes stand out like works of art.
I hope and dream that someday I will have a magnificent closet myself and maybe even some more high fashion clothes so I could feel like Carrie Bradshaw!

Wear to go from here... back to my little walk-in to organize!

Emmy Blues

Last night was the 63rd Emmy Awards. It was entertaining as always and all the stars come out dressed to the nines! I like watching the Emmys over some of the other award shows because they tend to have a little more fun and humor with it. The people always seem more relaxed and being entertained through out the night.

But really the main reason I sit and watch this show, and all the award shows is the DRESSES!! I love to see what everyone is wearing and what designers they picked, the shoes and even the hair and makeup. It all looks so glamorous and amazing! As a little girl I always remember my mom watching the award shows and I wished that some day I could get all dressed up and walk a red carpet. Probably will never get the opportunity too… but a girl’s gotta dream!

This year it seems that everyone was wearing blue! There was every shade of blue from rich cobalt, navy, and even some cerulean.
It was so bright and beautiful and a true test to blue is the new HOT hue for fall fashion.
*Photos from eonline.com - for more red carpet looks*

I think my favorite was a tie between Kyle Richards one shoulder mermaid style and Claire Daines strapless sparkles (Duh-it's sparkly)! But all the ladies looked beautiful and glamorous!

As I was checking my emails this morning I came across an article on the Who What Wear website that showcased some deliciously glitter and sparkle heels! And we all know I LOVE me some glitz!! I can't wait to purchase some sparkle for my feet...and feel like it's a disco party all day!

I love a well dressed man

In keeping with the theme of Fall Trends this week, I thought I would also share some great menswear looks from J. Crew’s Fall 2011 collection. Also since my dad mentioned while I was in Chicago that my blog was cool and all, but what was he going to do with all this women’s fashion?! So I thought I would incorporate some men’s things too. Also I totally go weak in the knees for a well dressed man! So single guys...take notes!

J. Crew has some great fall fashion for men, and was actually more close to wearable fashion for the men in my life! Trust me, my dad and brother would never be caught dead in leather pants or a leopard print sweater. Rather a nice leather bomber jacket and subtle stripe sweaters was more their pace.

That being said, here is some of the Fall menswear trends that every guy needs for Fall!
*Pictures from Style.com – J.Crew Menswear*

A classic sport jacket!
Add jeans and a tie and you’ve got an ever more dressed up look
A tweed suit!
Think Mad Men… a very updated traditional style
A grandpa sweater!
Even if you are 20 or 65 a grandpa sweater looks great over a t-shirt or button down
A simple stripe sweater!
This charcoal and black one would be great paired with jeans or slacks
A plaid button down!
Plaid is back and for more than the loggers now
A wool pea coat!
This will be fall/winter staple in your closet
Boot cut jeans & slacks!
Bring all these looks together perfectly! No saggy bottoms with boxers hanging out here!!

Wearable Chocolate

I'm not much of a choco-holic, but the new fall trend of chocolate metals has made me want to bring more of this luxurious trend into my accessory collection. It's a perfect way to add some warmth to my fall clothes without adding calories! And anytime you I can avoid those dreaded things is a plus.

Here are some of the pieces I have already invested in (#2 & 5...actually wearing now...guess I was feeling inspired!) or am totally lusting over!

I'm Back!

I’m back! After about a month of traveling to visit family, working long hours at the office and having a touch and go Internet situation at home... I am finally back and ready to jump into my favorite season of fashion. Yes, FALL is finally upon us and I’m so excited to bring out the boots, sweaters and cashmere! Although we are on the tail end of some 80 degree weather here in Seattle (finally got some summer weather – better late than never) I know the cool 60-50’s are right around the corner.

Here are some of the inspirations I have for my fall wardrobe!

On my shopping list...
A fur coat (Faux is the way I always go...nothing real!)
Leather! (Shorts, skirts, jackets)
A bright wool coat
Chambray

Show and Tell

I love the idea of blogs with daily outfits, but it just isn't something that is feasible for me. I am lacking in several key pieces that those other girls with daily outfit blogs have...

A. I do not have a fancy SLR camera or mad photoshop skills (A work in progress & budget)
B. I do not have a roommate, live-in boyfriend or fiance to take my picture daily (the down side of living alone)
C. I am not in a cute outfit everyday! (I choose the snooze button over fashion some days! Who am I kidding... most days!)

That being said I was headed out to dinner with a friend and she suggested we take some pictures for my blog since she was there to be my photographer. So here is my first attempt at showing off my fashion on the blog!
Ok here is the outfit run down...
CLOTHES: jeans- forever 21, top & tank- BP Nordstrom, scarf- Echo, flats- H&M,
ACCESSORIES: crossbody-Abas, watch- Michael Kors, bracelets- Sequin & Nadri, earrings- Argento Vivo, sunglasses- Prada
Wear to go from here... photoshop class maybe... or the camera store!
(mom, dad...Christmas idea! hint hint!!)
